
Kathryn De Vries started Mew Mew Konfectionaries in 2021; but ultimately started her baking career in 2012 when she started high school. She attended the Secchia School of Culinary Arts and honed her craft from there. Having a love for baking and sweets was just the beginning after learning from some of the more prominent bakers in the greater Grand Rapids are. She decided to explore and learn skills and techniques from countries all around the world but ultimately fell in love with Asian desserts. Currently she wants to establish a foothold in Asian sweets and baked goods. Chef Kat really has a grasp on classic and modern American baking and offers a few through her bakery. She has even collaborated with other small business owners to further grow the culinary industry of Grand Rapids.
When Kat isn’t baking and /or conversing with other chefs; she is at home with her soon to be husband, Zack, and her two cats , Wednesday and Clover. While living in Grand Rapids, Kat has used her free time to be enriched by her hobbies;such as, listening to K-pop, watching K-dramas, participating in escape rooms, and dabbling in the arts of singing and dancing. Kat is currently developing new recipes and experimenting with new ingredients stretching across many asian countries and cultures. In the future, Chef Kat hopes to branch out into multiple restaurants and cafes in order to have her fantastic sweets reach the greatest number of people. Her goal is to bring smiles and happiness to as many people as possible in the greater Grand Rapids area.
